Liverpool’s goalkeepers take centre stage in today’s transfer news, with QPR’s Rob Green reported to be on the verge of a move to Anfield.
That appears to be bad news for Adam Bogdan, Liverpool’s back-up for Simon Mignolet whose error-strewn displays have convinced manager Jurgen Klopp to seek alternatives.
The Evening Standard reports that 36-year-old Green is being lined up, with QPR eager to get the high-earning former England keeper off their books.
Green is remembered by many for his blunder for England against USA at the 2010 World Cup. He has, however, largely impressed for QPR in his three-and-a-half years at Loftus Road, helping Rangers win promotion in 2013-14.
Stan Collymore, the former Liverpool striker, said the club should break the bank for Stoke goalkeeper Jack Butland . “He would give the club youth, quality and consistency for years to come,” Collymore wrote on Boyle Sports .
Jurgen Klopp has also been told he must up his bid for Shane Long to £12m, according to The Sun . Klopp had an £8m bid for the Southampton striker rejected last week.

Liverpool could rival Sunderland for Swansea midfielder Jordan Ayew , according to The Daily Telegraph . Ayew supported Liverpool as a child and has been arguably Swansea’s best player in a season of struggle. However, after Swansea’s 1-0 win over Watford on Monday night the interim manager, Alan Curtis, insisted Ayew is not for sale.
Allan Rodrigues has completed a loan move to Belgian side Sint-Truidense. The Brazilian, signed by Brendan Rodgers last September, has been unable to secure a work permit.
