Alex Texeira has edged closer to a Liverpool deal by expressing a desire to leave Shakhtar Donetsk. In an interview with Brazilian newspaper O Globo he’s said

“I would like to move in this transfer window and have told them [Shakhtar] that. They have received a very good offer and they are working on a solution. But if I don’t go now then I will leave in the summer. After six years in Europe and with Shakhtar we are ready to move and I have spoken to my wife and daughter.

I do want to play in the Premier League. In my mind, it is the strongest in the world. I want a challenge and to further my career there. My aim is to move to a big club so that I can well there and get a place in the Brazil squad. Everyone knows that it is hard to achieve and I need to leave here to achieve that goal.”

Elsewhere the Red’s are in a three way battle for Athletic Bilbao’s Inaki Wlliams. Manchester City are ready to splash out on the €50 million release clause in the 21 year olds contract with Arsenal also tracking developments. The Spaniard has scored 6 goals in 15 club appearances this season and may well be on his way to England The Sunday Express reports.

After Saturday’s performance of Simon Mignolet, who managed to ship four goals in the game; Liveprool are also on the lookout for a goalkeeper. Having previously been linked with Barcelona star Marc-Andre Ter Stegen the Sunday People reports that Kasper Schmeichel could be on his way to Anfield.

The 29 year old Denmark star, and son of Manchester United legend Peter has played a key role in Leicester’s meteoric rise. Whilst Claudio Ranieri may be able to hold on to the keeper until the end of the season, Jurgen Klopp may well up his efforts in the summer.

The Daily Star report that Liverpool have also been looking at 15 year old goalkeeper Bartosz Mrozek. The Pole has had a trial at Manchester United after a year of subtle courting. However, he returns to Poland today with Liverpool and Manchester city monitoring the situation.
