Luis Suarez to Barcelona: £63m, five-year deal agreed for Liverpool striker according to reports in Spain

Reports in Spain claim a deal has been struck for the controversial Uruguayan

Luis Suarez is on the brink of leaving Liverpool to join Barcelona, with reports in Spain claiming that the two clubs have agreed a £63m deal for the Uruguayan, and it could even be officially announced on Sunday.

Reports from Catalan TV stations state that a fee of £63m has been agreed for Suarez, with Barcelona handing him a five-year deal that would make him the club's fourth highest paid player.

However, there is no consistent agreement on what the agreed price for Suarez is, with The Liverpool Echo reporting that Barcelona had agreed to meet the Uruguayan's buyout clause of around £75m.

One potential hold up to the transfer though could be reaching an agreement over Alexis Sanchez, with Liverpool wanting the Chile international as part of the deal. Sanchez, however, favours a move to Arsenal.

While the exit of Suarez remains Liverpool's primary focus, they are still continuing with their recruitment drive and, having already signed Southampton duo Rickie Lambert and Adam Lallana, in addition to Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Emre Can, they are trying to bring a third Saints man to Anfield in the form of Dejan Lovren.

Manager Brendan Rodgers is keen to add reinforcements at centre-back and it is understood that a bid has been lodged at St Mary's.

That has been rejected, but there are suggestions the Croatia international is unhappy with that and wants the opportunity to play Champions League football, which is an issue Southampton's new manager Ronald Koeman will have to address as he gets ready to welcome the players back for pre-season.

Were Rodgers to succeed in signing Lovren, it would most likely signal the end of Daniel Agger's eight-year Liverpool career, with the club looking to offload him for between £10million and £12million.
