MANCHESTER UNITED BOUND...

Manchester United have begun negotiations with Real Madrid over the transfer of Gareth Bale - with a suggestion that they are willing to offer £50m plus goalkeeper David De Gea. The report from the Sunday People would see Bale valued in the region of £100m.

The future of Radamel Falcao continues to be uncertain, with the striker recently being dropped and then struggling during yesterday's game against QPR. United have an agreement that they can buy the Colombian striker for £43m when his loan deal expires at the end of the season. However, that fee is beginning to look a little too big, leading to suggestions that United will try to renegotiate the deal with Monaco.

Despite the club appearing to be counting the pennies over Falcao, the Daily Mirror report that Louis van Gaal will be given another £150m to spend. Mats Hummels and Kevin Strootman are the two on which he wants to spend it apparently.

Luka Modric has been linked with a return to the Premier League according to reports in Spain. It's suggested his wife is unhappy in Madrid and would like a return to England. Manchester United could be an ideal home for the Real Madrid player who moved to the Bernabeu from Tottenham.

HOPES FADING...

Hopes of bringing Paul Pogba back to the club though have been dealt a blow. The Juventus player, who went to Italy from Old Trafford, recently said he still loved United despite his difficult departure. However, talk that he could return has been spoilt by claims that Real Madrid are ready to blow them out of the water by making a £78m bid for the midfielder.
