Morgan Schneiderlin will join Manchester United on Wednesday when the summer transfer window opens, according to reports.

The Daily Mirror have reported that the £25m deal for the Southampton midfielder has been agreed, and the French international will become United' second signing this summer, after the addition of Memphis Depay from PSV Eindhoven.

The report adds that United will make a £20m move for the Holland No 1 goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen this summer to replace the outgoing David De Gea, who is set to move to Real Madrid.

Ajax 'keeper Cillessen has made 21 appearances for the Dutch national team.

United assistant manager Ryan Giggs revealed today despite being on holiday he was in contact with Louis van Gaal and fellow assistant Albert Stuivenberg about new signings.

“If there are players available who are winners, who are proven then, yeah, let’s go and get them," he told the Sunday Times.

“On holiday I was still on the phone to Albert about players coming in and players for the new season.

“With any good team, the spine is important. Midfield, striker, centre-backs, goalkeeper. I’m sure we’ll be looking to strengthen the spine all the way through."
