Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confident Paul Pogba will be at Manchester United next season

Manchester United have been boosted in their attempts to sign Bruno Fernandes.

The Portuguese international is available this summer after starring last season with Sporting ready to cash in on their sought-after midfielder.

A number of clubs including Liverpool and Tottenham are said to also be keen but it is United who the lead the race.

Fernandes has an £88m clause in his current contract but reports in Portugal on Friday suggest that Sporting would take far less to complete a deal.

They say club president Frederico Varandas would instead would be ready to sell for £53m which represents a huge step forward in negotiations.

Paul Pogba's Old Trafford future is edging closer to being decided.

Real Madrid and in particular their manager Zinedine Zidane are desperate to sign the French international this summer.

And Mundo Deportivo report that Real have offered United £72m plus their choice of Gareth Bale or Isco.

It remains to be seen whether United go for that deal with it understood they value Pogba in the region of £150m.

Elsewhere United will battle Bayern Munich to sign Brazil international Everton Soares.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to strengthen his forward options and the Gremio forward has emerged as a target following an impressive run of form at the Copa America.

German site TZ believe Bayern have joined the race for the 23-year-old.

Inter are pushing ahead with plans to sign Romelu Lukaku, who is Antonio Conte's first choice to replace Mauro Icardi, with the Italian ready to ditch the Argentine forward.

As well as Lukaku they also want Nemanja Matic, according to ESPN, with the Serbian midfielder having requested to speak with the club about their plans for him.

Another new arrival could be Wissam Ben Yedder who appears to be Solskjaer's preferred striker signing.

The Sevilla striker has a £35m release clause in his contract with the Express reporting that he has agreed personal terms on a switch.

Newcastle's Sean Longstaff could be another incoming with Solskjaer particularly keen on the young midfielder, with the Magpies selling Ayoze Perez to Leicester for £30m.

The Daily Star report a deal could be struck as soon as this week with the Magpies valuing the youngster at around £25m.

Harry Maguire could also join him with the Manchester Evening News reporting that rivals Manchester City won't break the bank to sign the England international.

Pep Guardiola is keen but with Leicester City holding out for upwards of £80m, City could leave the way clear for United to seal a deal.

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Dean Henderson could join Marcus Rashford in putting speculation over his own future to bed with a new deal too, before heading back out on loan.

In a more far-fetched piece of news from Italy and Tuttosport, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has given his representatives the green light to move to Old Trafford should they come chasing him in the event of Lukaku’s departure, though exactly how Arsenal would feel about such an approach is less clear.
