Morgan Schneiderlin has been told he can leave Southampton this summer, sparking a bidding war between Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham.

According to reports, the French midfielder has been told he can leave St Mary's this summer. This time last year he was linked with a move to Spurs, but Southampton refused to let him go.

Schneiderlin has been heavily linked with a £24m move to United this summer, however the odds on him joining Arsenal were slashed yesterday.

The 25-year-old has admitted he wants to play for a Champions League club and he's been widely tipped to move on. United and Tottenham have at various stages been favourites to land the accurate passer, but Arsenal now appears his most likely destination.

Football Trader for Betfair, Michael Bowers commented: “Arsenal are now odds-on favourite to sign the in-demand Frenchman before September 2nd 2015. Schneiderlin has been a wanted man for several transfer windows now and it seems as though Wenger is trying to force a deal through early to fend off other suitors. After a huge rush of bets today, Arsenal have been cut from 5/1 to 1/2, the shortest odds any other club has been backed in to by far.”
