Nolito to Arsenal: Gunners preparing 'last-minute' bid for Celta Vigo forward in the January transfer window

Reports in Spain claim that the Gunners are interested in the 29-year-old

Arsenal are preparing a "last-minute" bid for Celta Vigo's forward Nolito, according to reports.

Spanish website sport.es have reported that heard good reports on the player and could make a late move for the 29-year-old, who has won five caps at full international level for the Spaniards.

A forward is much needed for Arsenal, with just Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott.

Nolito has been in fine form for Celta Vigo this season, scoring seven goals in 10 games.

The Gunners have been boosted by only one addition in this transfer window, with FC Basel midfielder Mohamed Elneny joining for a reported £7.4m.

The 23-year-old has yet to play for the Gunners since his move, having twice been an unused substitute.

It has been reported that he will start for Arsenal in their FA Cup fourth-round tie against Burnley at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

What to expect from Arsenal this transfer window

Elneny could play in an experimental midfield alongside Calum Chambers, with Aaron Ramsey and Mathieu Flamini rested.
