Paul Pogba has excited Manchester United fans once again with yet another playful Instagram post.

The Juventus midfielder, 23, is United’s number one transfer target this summer, with the two clubs currently in negotiations over a world record-breaking transfer.

Supporters have been keeping a close eye on Pogba’s social media accounts in recent weeks, attempting to read between the lines for any hint of how talks are progressing.

Pogba’s latest upload on his Instagram channel shows him at a petrol station, filling up an expensive sports car while holidaying in the United States.

The image itself is unremarkable, yet some fans believe Pogba’s use of a red, white and black filter – United's traditional colours – is telling.

The caption to the image reads: “En route 66 on route 66 #holidays #route66”. Route 66 is one of the United States’ most famous highways, running from Santa Monica, California to Chicago, Illinois.

On Monday, Pogba uploaded a picture of himself and his agent, Mino Raiola, sat laughing in a swimming pool, with the caption: "We say it all by saying nothing at all."

The France international then released a short video clip with his sponsors Adidas, in which he told the camera: “Don’t believe everything you read in the papers.”

Summer 2016 Transfer Window - Done deals and rumours

Juventus are reportedly determined to receive €120m (£100m), a world record transfer fee, for Pogba’s services.

The deal has also been complicated by Raiola’s demands, with both clubs reluctant to pay his €25m (£21m) fee in full.
