Petr Cech joins Arsenal: When will goalkeeper make his debut for the Gunners?
Cech will have his squad number announced later today
Arsenal fans won’t have to wait long to see Petr Cech in action after he completed his £11m transfer from Premier League rivals Chelsea, with the rest of the squad due back for pre-season training this week.
The Gunners will embark on a pre-season our of Singapore where they will take on a Singapore Select XI on Wednesday 15 July, with further plans to stage the Emirates Cup back in north London and the Community Shield against Chelsea at Wembley Stadium the following month.
With Cech’s deal signed and sealed, it looks likely that the 33-year-old will be given his first outing in an Arsenal shirt on the opening game of the Singapore trip. However, should Cech join up with the squad without any further exits, manager Arsene Wenger will have three first-team goalkeepers to choose from, with David Ospina and Wojciech Szczesny currently at the club.
