Chelsea target Radamel Falcao says that he is "calm" despite a horrible year at Manchester United and that his spell at Old Trafford made him a more "complete player".

The Colombian managed just four goals in a tough first season in England, with United eventually deciding against bringing him to the club on a permanent basis.

After his initial £6million one-year loan spell, United had a deal in place that could have seen Falcao join the club for €50m - Louis van Gaal and Ed Woodward quickly said no after his struggles.

But the striker, currently in action at the Copa America, believes he will get back to his devastating best and that his serious knee injury will not mar the rest of his career.

“It depends what criteria you are using,” he said.

“People said I was not on the field and not scoring goals. But Falcao was always there.

“The speculation is not true. I am calm. Today Falcao is a more complete player.”
