The Uruguay international signs a five-year contract
Edinson Cavani has finally decided where his future lies, opting to move to the French capital to join Paris St Germain.
The future of the Uruguay international has been one of the biggest stories of the transfer window, with speculation linking him strongly with moves to Chelsea, Manchester City and Real Madrid.
Along the way, the president of Napoli threatened to smack him, both his parents waded in to the debate and the player had to give his mum and dad a warning through the media.
And after all that, he has joined PSG in what is the most expensive deal of the summer so far.
It is understand that the mega-rich Ligue 1 side have met his £54m buy-out clause and it was announced today that he has signed a five-year contract.
Following the move, speculation will intensify that one of PSG's current strikers, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, will seek a move away from the Parc des Princes.
When discussing the proposed move of Cavani to PSG recently, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis claimed: "Ibrahimovic will not play with Cavani, he has been promised a transfer."
The Sweden international has been linked with Chelsea, who themselves had been among the favourites to land Cavani before today's announcement. Manchester City, who are also eager to sign a new striker, will also be interested should be become available.
