Middlesbrough club officials were yesterday working hard to push home their interest in the French midfielder Didier Digard, having allowed Fabio Rochemback and Gaizka Mendieta to leave the Riverside this summer. The £4m-rated Paris St-Germain 21-year-old has been on Teesside for a medical examination and to open talks. Boro are optimistic that they will beat Newcastle and Portsmouth to his signature.
