Arsenal and Liverpool are said to be tracking Olympiakos striker Konstantinos Mitroglou.

The 25-year-old forward has been in flying form for Olympiakos this season with performances that have caught the attention of Arsene Wenger as he looks for a back up for Olivier Giroud.

Mitroglou, who is valued at around £7.5m, has scored 22 goals for club and country this season and could be the perfect man to help the Gunners maintain their title push.

Olympiakos coach Jose Miguel Michel has said “If he keeps on doing well, it will be hard to keep him.

“We’ve known for some time that there has been interest from many clubs, but that’s only logical considering how well he has been doing lately.

The Greek international currently plays with Arsenal loanee Joel Campbell, which many feel Wenger can use to his advantage in order to tempt the forward to the Emirates.

Newcastle are also said to be interested in the signature of Mitroglou as they try to deal with the horribly out of form Papiss Cisse.
