Marouane Fellaini has completed a £27.5m move from Everton to Manchester United.

With no confirmation before the close of the transfer window, it's understood a deal was completed in time.

It emerged hours before the 11pm deadline that Fellaini handed in a formal transfer request at Everton in a last-ditch attempt to force through the move.

Earlier in the day the Belgian FA allowed the midfielder to delay linking up with the national squad so that he could complete his move to Old Trafford. The player was then seen at Everton's Finch Farm training ground.

The 25-year-old was linked with a move to Manchester United across the summer, with David Moyes making multiple bids for his former player.

United's pursuit of Fellaini included a number of joint bids that included his Everton team-mate Leighton Baines.

The Independent revealed last week that the England left-back was keen on a move to Old Trafford and asked the Goodison Park hierarchy to try and agree a deal with Manchester United, however, a move this summer has not materialised.
