Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has been linked with moves for Radamel Falcao and Romelu Lukaku as the Champions League holders attempt to plug the gap made by Alvaro Morata's departure to Juventus.

According to the Spanish media, the La Liga giants, who also lifted the Copa del Rey, will have to pay Chelsea £30m for their Belgian frontman.

Monaco, on the other hand, only signed Falcao for £50m last summer but the Colombian international has become unsettled in France.

Madrid newspaper AS reports that the Ligue 1 side may even entertain a loan deal, costing Madrid £12.5m, in a bid to get the 28-year-old off their wage bill.

Lukaku is more surprising, considering his lukewarm campaign at the World Cup in Brazil, but Ancelotti was seemingly impressed by his form on loan at Everton last season.

Scoring sixteen goals for the Toffees in all competitions, there were calls for Blues manager Jose Mourinho to start with the 21-year-old striker this season.

Chelsea have already signed Diego Costa for £33m from Atletico Madrid, however, and confirmed the return of Didier Drogba to Stamford Bridge on Friday.

Madrid's summer spending, which includes an estimated £65m paid for James Rodriguez and £25m for Toni Kroos, looks set to continue.

Angel di Maria, who impressed for the Galacticos last term, is believed to be considering lucrative approaches from both Paris Saint Germain and Manchester United after becoming disillusioned with the competition for places at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Louis van Gaal, the United manager, would have to part with over £40m should he want to secure the Argentine's services.
