Transfer news: Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris would 'quite like' switch to Arsenal, claims Olivier Giroud

The Arsenal striker claims his fellow Frenchman would be open to a move across north London

Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris would "quite like" to move across north London to join Arsenal.

At least that's what Gunners striker Olivier Giroud claims.

The pair, who play together for the French national team, are friends and Giroud has revealed that they have spoken about a possible switch.

"We go out together and talk about everything," Giroud told French TV.

"We talk about life and sometimes the French team a bit and our wish to have a great experience together at the World Cup.

"Have I asked him (Lloris) to join Arsenal? Yes, I have with Lolo (Laurent Koscielny). He would have liked to, he would quite like to. You will have to ask him the question."

It's reported that Lloris, one of the outstanding goalkeepers in the Premier League, will look to move away from White Hart Lane should Spurs fail to qualify for the Champions League.

The former Lyon player is understood to be coveted by PSG, however if Giroud is to be believed, he may look to stay in the Premier League.

However, the 27-year-old may decide a switch from Spurs to Arsenal is not worth the baggage. The last player to make the move was Sol Campbell in 2001 - a transfer Spurs fans never forgave the defender for.
