Egypt vs Uruguay LIVE World Cup 2018: Is Mohamed Salah playing - latest score, goals and updates
Follow all the latest from Egypt 0-1 Uruguay in Ekaterinburg
Preparations for Egypt’s first World Cup finals match for 28 years have been overshadowed by the question of Mohamed Salah’s fitness.
The Liverpool superstar has been deemed fit to travel to Russia and yet it remains unclear how much of a factor his injured shoulder will allow him to be at the tournament.
Hector Cuper’s men have little margin for error at Central Stadium in Yekaterinburg. Uruguay are widely fancied as dark horses for World Cup 2018 and will be satisfied with nothing less than top spot in Group A.

KICK OFF: Uruguay kick us off as the first of three World Cup games today gets underway
3 mins: Egypt look nervy, and understandably so with the wealth of Uruguayan talent on show. Both sides feeling their way into the game.
6 mins: Egypt are growing into this one, plenty of pressure applied to the Uruguayan defence as they try to play out from the back, but the Egyptians are open to counter attack
8 mins: Cavani with the first real tester. A low drive from just outside the box is comfortably collected by El-Shenawy
11 mins: Suarez and Cavani have made an industrious start, keen to break up the Egyptian play.
Now time for Egypt to have their first shot, this time Muslera easily collects
15 mins: From Gimenez out of defence with crisp passes through midfield, out to the wing and finally a wayward shot from Luis Suarez, that's a taste of what Uruguay can offer this World Cup. Just a small lapse of concentration from Egypt and Uruguay could be ahead.
15 mins: The first free kick in a dangerous position goes to Egypt. Bentancur fouls from around 30 yards out, but it eventually comes to nothing and Uruguay can rebuild from a goal kick.
20 mins: Egypt going long, but despite winning the first ball the majority of the time, they are struggling to get numbers around the ball. Uruguay also struggling to get the ball forward effectively
21 mins: In a tense start for both sides, the majority of the space seems to be on the Uruguayan right, with Guillermo Varela getting forward
23 mins: CLOSE! Suarez has the BBC commentary team, and most in attendance at the Central Stadium thinking Uruguay have taken the lead. A corner isn't cleared by the Egyptians and Suarez manages to hit the side netting!
This game is starting to heat up, and turn into an end to end affair.
