Giorgio Chiellini, the Italian football player who was allegedly bitten by Luis Suarez, seems to have recovered from the incident and is now poking fun at the Uruguayan striker.

Reenacting the World Cup shocker, the Italian defender did not hesitate to take a picture next to a Brazilian hotel maid pretending to bite his shoulder after he lashed out at Suarez on Tuesday.

Chiellini claims the Liverpool striker deliberately sunk his teeth into his shoulder in the clash between Italy and Uruguay, insisting that the controversial striker left a bite mark and should have been sent off.

"It is clear, clear-cut and then there was the obvious dive afterwards because he knew very well that he did something that he shouldn’t have done, " he told Sky Italia. "Suarez is a sneak and he gets away with it because FIFA want their stars to play in the World Cup."

Reacting to his comments, Suarez denied he took a bite of the Italian defender, claiming that it was Chiellini who "bumped" into him and left him pain.

Today, Alejandro Balbi, a board member of the Uruguayan Football Association (AUF), went on to say Saurez came off with worse injuries than his opponent, with the 27-year-old sporting a black eye following the 1-0 victory over Italy.

Mr Balbi also claimed that Suarez was a victim of a conspiracy created by Brazilian, English and Italia media after he helped knock out the former two nations in Group D.

Update: Suarez has been handed a record nine-game ban and a four month football ban after Fifa found him guilty of biting Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini, making the sanction the biggest ever World Cup suspension in history.
