The stage is set for a crucial match in Manaus as both Croatia and Cameroon are looking for their first points to stay alive at Group A.

Croatia fell short to Brazil at the World Cup opener but they were held back by a controversial penalty drawn by Fred and converted by Neymar. Nevertheless, Niko Kovac’s side should feel in confident mood after an impressive display against the hosts. Star striker Mario Mandzukic will be making his international return after a one-match ban over a red card booking at the play-offs. Croatia will be hoping a furore over nude pictures hasn't been too much of a distraction.

The situation does not look very promising for Cameroon as their star player Samuel Eto’o will almost certainly not be part of Wednesday’s match. The former Chelsea striker picked up a knee injury during the closing stages of the season and so manager Volker Finke will be replacing him with Fenerbahce player Pierre Webo.
