Paula Radcliffe is in line for a record pay day of £125,000 after confirming she will run in the London Grand Prix meeting at Crystal Palace on 8 August.

Radcliffe, who last ran in a British track meeting at the Commonwealth Games last year, will compete two weeks before the World Championships in Paris. Her night's work could net her £125,000 in appearance and prize money.

The marathon world record holder is likely to run the 5,000 metres and breaking the world record would see her eclipse the £100,000 Linford Christie earned for his 1993 showdown with Carl Lewis at Gateshead.

"After Manchester last year, I really wanted to fit in a UK track meet this year. The field at this event is always of high quality. The timing is perfect. Hopefully it will be the ideal send-off for the World Championships," Radcliffe said.
