And now, in nice-man news, Mo Farah has run to the defence of an interviewer ridiculed for not realising she was talking to a double Olympic champion.

LaTonya Norton, a New Orleans news anchor, was talking to Farah about his win in a local half-marathon. “Haven’t you run before?” she asked. “This isn’t your first time?”

A gracious Farah continued without revealing his status, but the clip went viral, shaming Norton.

Farah tweeted: “Just wanna say to everyone being nasty to LaTonya Norton please stop!! She made a mistake like we all do!! She didn’t mean anything by it!” Give that man another medal.
