Steve Swanson, the assistant coach to the Brighton Bears when they lost the BBL play-off final last Sunday, has become head coach to the team that beat them, the Scottish Rocks.

Swanson replaces Kevin Wall, who had announced his retirement from coaching a month earlier. "I'm extremely excited," Swanson said. "I think it's a great fit for both the club and myself and I can't wait to get started.

The amount of energy and excitement surrounding the Rocks is impressive and I'm looking forward to trying to build on that.

"I want to continue to make sure that the fans see a competitive and exciting team at Braehead Arena again next season. It would be great to have a lot of the players from this year's team return for another season."
