Boxing: Magee to defend IBO crown at King's Hall

Rising super-middleweight Brian Magee will make the next defence of his International Boxing Organisation title on 22 November at the King's Hall, Belfast.

It will be the first time in eight years that the King's Hall - where Barry McGuigan and Dave McAuley made their names - hosts boxing, with Belfast man Magee topping a multi-title show.

The bill also features three British title fights. Tony Dodson will box for the super-middleweight crown, Roy Rutherford defends his featherweight title against Dazzo Williams, and Jamie Moore will put his light-middleweight belt on the line.

The fight's promoter, Barry Hearn, said: "There have been some great nights at the King's Hall and I'm hoping that Brian Magee can start to do the same for Irish boxing."

The British Boxing Board of Control will demand a rematch, after Michael Brodie's controversial draw with Injin Chi on Saturday night.

Chi was originally declared the winner of their World Boxing Council featherweight title fight at Manchester's MEN Arena. But nearly an hour later, the WBC president, Jose Sulaiman, insisted he had accidentally deducted one point too many from Brodie for a first round headbutt - altering the outcome to a majority draw.
