Kell Brook makes public challenge to Amir Khan: '4 June, Wembley Stadium, put up or shut up'

Kell Brook made Amir Khan a very public offer to battle for his IBF welterweight world title in an all-British superfight on 4 June at Wembley Stadium, after Khan had launched a scathing attack on his rival in series of tweets.

The Bolton welterweight Khan, who has not boxed since defeating Chris Algieri via unanimous decision last May, tweeted a picture of him in the ring with the words “anytime any place #ready”.

Brook responded with the message to Khan, 29, suggesting that the stadium is already booked for the fight: "Put up or shut up. No more talk, June 4 Wembley Stadium for the World title. I will destroy you."

The undefeated Brook, also 29, will first have to take on his mandatory challenger Kevin Bizier in his home town of Sheffield on 26 March.

The 2004 Olympic silver medallist Khan had posted a series of tweets explaining why he has been inactive since the Algieri fight, and stating why fights against Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao did not materialise for him.

Khan wrote that he was let down by Mayweather on three separate occasions, and admitted that he had held talks with Pacquaio but the Filipino's team could not agree on the terms. Pacquiao will instead fight Timothy Bradley in the final fight of his career on 19 April.
