The International Olympic Committee has opened an investigation into doping cheat Lance Armstrong, who could be stripped of the bronze medal he won in the road time-trial at the 2000 Sydney Games.

The Texan saw his seven Tour de France "wins" expunged last week. Armstrong, who did not cooperate with the Usada investigation, now faces further scrutiny from the IOC, who will first await the outcome of an investigation by the UCI.
