Geminiani maintained her unbeaten record when she took the Prestige Stakes at Goodwood yesterday. She is now 20-1 with Ladbrokes for next year's 1,000 Guineas, for which Russian Rhythm is 3-1 favourite. Yesterday's Group Three contest, won last year by the top-class Gossamer, had seemed competitive but the winner, trained by Barry Hills and ridden by his son Michael, was an easy winner from Huja, ridden by the winning jockey's twin, Richard.

The winner is from the first crop of King Of Kings, the 2,000 Guineas winner four years ago, and Hills's assistant, Kevin Mooney, said: "He has thrown horses of a good stamp and this filly has plenty of size. She's won twice at Goodwood but she would have no problem with a flat track and the Fillies' Mile at Ascot could be on the agenda."

Under the new stricter rules concerning riding out for all places, Jimmy Fortune was found to have eased sixth-home Sister Bluebird, costing her fifth place. The difference in prize-money was just £332 but Fortune was banned for four days.
