Racing: Spencer is called up for Ouija Board in Champion

Jamie Spencer will become the fifth jockey to ride Ouija Board this season when he teams up with the outstanding mare in the Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown tomorrow week.

Frankie Dettori, who partnered the six-time Group One winner to victory in in the Nassau Stakes at Goodwood last time, has been confirmed as the rider of Sixties Icon, favourite for the St Leger on the same afternoon. Ouija Board's previous pilots this year - with mixed success - have been Christophe Soumillon, Olivier Peslier and Kieren Fallon.

Iffraaj is the most notable absentee from tomorrow's Betfred Sprint Cup at Haydock, in which Reverence heads 11 declarations. Eric Alston's progressive five-year-old was an impressive winner of another Group One event, the Nunthorpe Stakes, at York last week.
