Council will not bail out Salford's new stadium
Salford Council is to discuss its local club's much delayed new stadium on Tuesday, but has denied that it will put up extra money. The council has pledged £10m and there is also an application for a similar sum from the North-west Development Agency.
The club's chief executive, Dave Tarry, is "very confident that the ground is going ahead", but the council's deputy leader said that its support "excludes funding any shortfall".
