Leeds' healthy status leaves Smith spoilt for choice

Leeds confirmed their reputation as the least injury-prone team in the game by having a full-strength squad available for their Powergen Challenge Cup tie at St Helens this afternoon.

The Rhinos' coach, Tony Smith, has two highly experienced fellow Australians fit and available again, but neither Chris McKenna nor Matt Adamson is certain of places in the starting line-up, so well have Leeds been playing.

Smith should have Rob Burrow fit after taking a knock at Castleford last week and then has to decide who to omit from a 20-man squad. "Just because we won last week doesn't mean we won't change things around," he said.

Like Leeds, Saints are unbeaten this season, but there the similarity ends. They have almost a full pack of forwards unavailable, with the 18-year-old prop, James Graham, who would have been in the 17 today, joining the injured list with an ankle problem. That should mean a chance for their second Samoan, Maurie Fa'asavalu, who has taken longer than his fellow countryman, Dom Feaunati, to make his mark in the first team.

The pick of tomorrow's ties is at Hull, where Castleford have Andy Lynch bidding for a place once more after shoulder surgery. The draw means an early return to the KC Stadium for the seasoned Australia forwards Sean Ryan and Craig Greenhill, who left Hull for Cas this winter.

"They are terrific people and very good players and they can certainly lift Castleford," the Hull coach, Shaun McRae, said. He is again likely to field two Richie Barnetts, the younger of whom, the former Gateshead winger, scored two tries on his debut against Warrington last Sunday.

Wakefield have reshuffled their pack for the visit to the London Broncos in tomorrow's other all-Super League meeting. Michael Korkidas is rested and Gareth Ellis is switched to loose forward, against opposition who will field two former Trinity favourites in Jon Wells and Francis Stephenson.

Quentin Pongia and Danny Sculthorpe will start at prop for Wigan in Limoux, with Chris Melling starting on the wing.

Warrington are without Graham Appo and Daryl Cardiss at Oldham, so they switch Brent Grose to full-back for the first time since he joined the club at the start of last season.

Huddersfield will still be without Brandon Costin and Darren Turner against Doncaster, with Phil Joseph continuing to deputise at hooker.

There will be at least two National League sides in the last eight, thanks to ties between Batley and Whitehaven and between Featherstone and York.

Widnes's need for a new scrum-half has become a matter of urgency. Having released Dean Lawford to rejoin Batley this week, the teenaged reserve, who could have been his replacement, has broken his leg in two places. Martin Ainscough, who was taken on the club's training camp in Australia, is expected to miss the rest of the season.
