Leeds reinforced by Manly prop Leuluai

Leeds, who will try to make a bad week worse for Wigan tonight, have announced the signing of the prop Kylie Leuluai on a three-year deal.

The Manly front-rower, a nephew of the Test centre James Leuluai and a cousin of Harlequins's Thomas, asked his uncle's opinion before committing himself.

"He said there was no better club in the UK to be joining," said Leuluai, who as a Samoan will not count on Leeds' overseas quota.

Leeds have told one of their current props, Chris Feather, that they are not retaining him after the end of this season. The former Wakefield player is expected to join Bradford.

The Rhinos' hooker Shane Millard has taken up the option of a one-year extension rather than join Wigan, whose match at Headingley tonight is their first since their two-point deduction for breaching last season's salary cap.

Leeds, on a four-match losing run, have dropped Lee Smith and are still without Danny McGuire, who has shin splints.

The Wigan coach, Brian Noble, said yesterday that their survival effort will not be derailed by their punishment and that they might be able to recall the injured Kris Radlinski.

In tonight's another Super League game, Salford have Simon Finnigan and Andrew Brocklehurst fit to face Warrington.

The Catalan Dragons have signed Jason Croker, the Canberra utility player, for next season.
