The final instalment of the ever popular PROBIZ Tryline is now available for your listening pleasure.
14,500 people tuned in the last edition, and the producers are anxious to see whether that all-time high can be topped this week as The Independent’s regular rugby league podcast comes to an end for the season.
In this latest episode, Leeds Rhinos fan and reporter Bobbie Jackson was sent to Old Trafford to provide a Jack Bauer-24-style account of the day as it unfolded.
It was a final that only the bravest would have predicted, but one that will live in the memory for years to come.
Both Leeds and St Helens have tasted success and failure in the Grand Final since its inauguration in 1998.
But it was the Rhinos who continued their domination over Saints at this stage, securing a fourth championship in five meetings.
During Bobbie’s day out, he caught up with fans from both clubs building up towards the big fixture, while taking in the fantastic atmosphere at Old Trafford.
The action itself is described on the day by Yorkshire Radio’s Richard Stead and his expert summariser Richie Mathers.
And if that wasn’t enough, there is also post-match reaction to the final from the two coaches, Brian McDermott and Royce Simmons plus Rhinos captain Kevin Sinfield and Harry Sunderland Trophy winner Rob Burrow.
As ever, The Independent's Dave Hadfield is on hand to give a neutral assessment on the game, the season as a whole and a quick look ahead to the Gillette Four Nations series.
Rob O’Neill will also check out the latest news from your Super League clubs from the last week in ‘Stop the Press’.
