St Helens are set to give the 18-year-old half-back, Gary Wheeler, his first-team debut in the Challenge Cup tie against the London Skolars on Sunday. Wheeler is likely to be on the bench, with the vastly more experienced Keiron Cunningham also due to figure after an injury lay-off.

With a Super League match at Warrington five days later, Saints' coach, Daniel Anderson, plans to rest Jason Cayless, Sean Long, Paul Sculthorpe and James Roby against the National League Two side.

Martin Aspinwall, who has been out of Huddersfield's first team all year after a knee reconstruction, has made a successful comeback in the reserves and might be considered for the Cup tie against Halifax this Sunday.
