Paul Sykes will be back with Bradford next season – six years after leaving the Bulls. The Great Britain centre, who made his debut against France this season, has been released from the remaining two years of his contract at Harlequins for an undisclosed fee.
Sykes had been in London since 2002, but wanted to return to Yorkshire following the birth of his and his partner's first child. He will return to Odsal as a straight replacement at centre for Ben Harris, who is going home to Australia.
Wakefield have gained and lost a player for next season. Danny Brough has signed from Castleford on a three-year deal – another rejoining his first professional club – but Peter Fox is joining Hull KR.
Brough was a product of Trinity's Academy side, but later went on his travels, to Dewsbury, York, Hull and Cas. He will be a scrum-half replacement next year for Ben Jeffries, one of those expected to join Bradford. Fox has been a regular on the wing for Wakefield this season since arriving from York, but has agreed a two-year deal with Rovers.
Warrington have given a new one-year deal to the Kiwi prop, Paul Rauhihi, while St Helens have extended Matty Smith's deal by a year. Smith has done well as Sean Long's understudy this season, but both are likely to be out injured against Warrington on Friday night.
