The Swedish yacht Ericsson 4, skippered by Torben Grael, with a third into Stockholm at the end of the ninth leg from Marstrand, is the outright winner of the 10-leg Volvo round the world race, winning the Fighting Finish trophy.
The leg was won by the American yacht Puma, with Kenny Read in charge, consolidating its position in second overall. The stricken Spanish entry Telefonica Blue, skippered jointly by Bouwe Bekking and Iker Martinez and with British navigator Simon Fisher, continues to make repairs in Inston having hit a rock soon after the start from Marstrand.
There is an inshore race on Sunday, in which T Blue is hoping to compete, before the final 400-mile leg to St. Petersburg.
