Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson has announced he will appear at next year's WrestleMania 32.

Speculation had mounted that the superstar known as the "Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment" would not be making an appearance at the WWE's flagship event at the AT & T Stadium in Dallas because of his acting commitments, but he has confirmed he will be there, posting a video on Instagram with the caption:

"IT'S OFFICIAL: People's Champ is coming home to do 3 things with THE PEOPLE: Set an ALL-TIME attendance record, ELECTRIFY Dallas like never before & make all time #WRESTLEMANIA history. And we have FUN. Ok that's four things but you know what the hell The Rock's sayin'.. . THANK YOU #WWEUniverse! It's always an honor coming home and I wouldn't miss it for the world. #PeoplesChamp4L #MakingElectrifyingHistory #SmackethLaidDownOnThyCandyAsses"

It is not yet known what capacity The Rock will be appearing at WrestleMania in, however. His last match was against John Cena back at WrestleMania 29.

The 43-year-old was at last year's WrestleMania, appearing in a segment with the then-UFC featherweight champion Ronda Rousey against Triple H and his wife Stephanie McMahon.

Could a match against Triple H be on the cards?
