Baltimore, Maryland and for once, there’s no monologue or rant to the WWE Universe to begin with. Our first shots are of a steel cage and apparently Jerry Springer will be on the show. Ok, this should be pretty cool.

Chris Jericho and Bray Wyatt are the two stars in the steel cage in what is deemed the last match in the rivalry between these two. Wyatt looked the stronger for the most of the match, using the cage as a weapon and nearly escaping on a number of occasions. Momentum changed though when Jericho got an opening and just as it looked like he would escape over the top, the presence of Erick Rowan and Luke Harper stopped him.

This meant that Jericho was stuck atop the cage so what did he do? Cross-bodied Wyatt from over 20 feet up in the air. Y2J hurt his knee in the process though and as the door opened for escape, both men started brawling in the doorway. As they were, Wyatt attacked the injured knee and rolled out for the victory.

Intercontinental champion Dolph Ziggler used this week’s celebrity hacking news to show some pictures of the Miz in a less-than-agreeable light. The Miz and Damien Mizdow then interrupted him, prompting the stunt double to be on the receiving end of a Zig-Zag.

Our Divas match of the night was a tag-team showdown between Paige & AJ Lee and Natalya & Rosa. Paige refused to tag her frenemy during the match so AJ forcefully tagged herself in and caused Rosa to tap via the Black Widow.

The cameras panned to Chris Jericho in the back who was receiving medical help after his match. He was then attacked by Randy Orton who was seen scheming earlier with Seth Rollins, Corporate Kane and Triple H.

Paul Heyman and John Cena had another argument with each other in the ring. Getting a bit boring this now isn’t it?

After all that was said and done, Sheamus was set to face Seth Rollins. Just as the Irishman was starting to take control of the match, his Night of Champions opponent Cesaro came out at ringside. When he picked up the Championship belt, the two started a tug-of-war which gave Rollins the opportunity to Curb Stomp Sheamus and get the victory. Cesaro then delivered a Neutralizer just to rub it in.

We saw a glimpse of some NXT talent next as Sami Zayn & NXT Champion Adrian Neville faced Tyson Kidd and Tyler Breeze in a tag-team match. It was an engrossing high-flying match and Zayn & Neville picked up the victory after hitting Breeze with a Red Arrow off the top rope.

Next up, Stephanie McMahon came to the ring and introduced that well-known WWE legend to help deal with the Bella twins. Errrrr, Jerry Springer. As predicted the two started to brawl….on top of Jerry. He then had to be taken out on a stretcher. Yeah.

Another tag-team match now, this time between Goldust & Stardust and Los Matadores, Diego & Fernando. The Cosmic twins got the victory extremely quickly, Stardust delivering Dark Matter to Fernando. As they were celebrating, their NoC opponents, the Usos, attacked them from behind in a reverse of roles from the last couple of weeks.

The psychedelic Adam Rose was next up as he went up against Titus O’Neil. The match got a bit weird when Rose’s giant bunny super-kicked Heath Slater who was also at ringside. This distracted O’Neil letting Rose deliver the Party Fowl before the bunny ‘bunny splashed’ the big man from the top rope. Again, yeah.

The Main Event was next between Randy Orton and Roman Reigns and hopefully we’ll get a proper match. The aggressive Reigns started the stronger, putting Orton on the defensive before the Viper capitalised after throwing his opponent head first into the steel steps. Orton dominated from then on but when Reigns somehow hit a Superman punch, Randy started signalling for someone to come down.

Kane, Rollins and a load of crew members ran down and they started to lower the steel cage that had been used earlier. Reigns then came under a series of attacks from the trio; first Rollins launched himself onto Roman from the top of the cage before being on the receiving end of a Kane chokeslam. Rollins then Curb-stommped him onto a steel chair after Orton had gone to town on him with it.

The middle part may have dragged on but at least the beginning and end of the show was good.

Results:

Bray Wyatt DEF Chris Jericho

Paige & AJ Lee DEF Natalya & Rosa

Seth Rollins DEF Sheamus

Sami Zayn & Adrian Neville DEF Tyson Kidd & Tyler Breeze

Goldust & Stardust DEF Los Matadores

Adam Rose DEF Titus O’Neil

Randy Orton vs Roman Reigns - No contest
