Giles on target for Britain
Calum Giles, Great Britain's specialist penalty corner striker, was in fine form yesterday, writes Brian Tatlock in Brussels. In just under two minutes of actual playing time he scored twice and provided the opportunity for Jason Laslett, captaining Britain for the first time, to score as Great Britain beat Belgium 3-1 in the first of two Tests. Giles got the first of his two with a direct strike after 11 minutes and his second just before the interval as Britain dominated the game. A wave of second- half substitutions disrupted Britain's flow, allowing Belgium to pull a goal back through the centre-forward Alexandre de Chaffoy in the 55th minute.
