German's masterly display

Bernhard Langer said at the end of the second round of the Mercedes German Masters in Berlin that he would be playing with Sweden's Anders Forsbrand for the title on the final day. His forecast has come true. Langer shot a superb 67 yesterday for a three-round aggregate of 200, 16 under par, which left him in second place, five shots behind the Swedish player. It also left him with a better chance of finishing the year as European No 1. Of the two men ahead of Langer in the Order of Merit, Colin Montgomerie dropped out of the event on Thursday with wrist trouble and Sam Torrance is way down the field on 209 after a third-round 68.
