PGA Championship live leaderboard: Latest scores and results as Jordan Spieth and Rory McIlroy tee-off
Follow the latest scores from day one Quail Hollow
The US PGA Championship gets underway on Thursday to start the final major of the year, with Jordan Spieth looking to claim back-to-back victories after his Open success to complete a career grand slam and become the youngest player ever to do so.
If Spieth wins at Quail Hollow, he will have claimed all four majors ahead of Tiger Woods’ record of 24 years and 206 days, cementing his place at the top of the game following his success at Royal Birkdale two weeks ago.
However, a number of players will be aiming to stop him, not least Rory McIlroy, with the pre-tournament favourite having won at Quail Hollow twice in the past including a course-record round of 61 two years ago.
Japanese golfer Hideki Matsuyama also arrives in form after winning the WGC-Bridgestone Championship last weekend, but the scheduled weather conditions could make it a testing weekend for all comers and throw up a few unlikely candidates.
