PJ Gallagher successfully defended his British super-featherweight championship against Charles Shepherd on Saturday night when he won the fight by half a point.
His trainer, Colin Wilson, said afterwards that he agonised as he watched the bout, especially when an exhausted Gallagher was floored by a short right in the 12th yet somehow reached the final bell to take the decision by 117 points to 1161/2.
"The performance was excellent, but as for the fight, it was horrible to watch," Wilson said. "That's three of those this year. He's going to have a hell of a rest. All I want to see this kid do is win a Lonsdale Belt outright, make a million quid then get out."
