Nicola Giles, with a brilliant penalty stroke save from North's captain Michelle Liptrott, kept West's hopes of taking the under-21 territorial title alive in Sheffield yesterday, writes Bill Colwill.

They lead North, South and Midlands on goal difference following their goalless draw. Earlier West had dented the Midlands' hopes of retaining their title when they won 4-1.

East dominated their game against South yesterday but failed to score and lost to a stinging penalty corner shot from South's Samantha Strange. Meanwhile, South fought back against Midlands to draw 1-1.
