John McEnroe won the Peters Cup in Moscow yesterday in his debut appearance on the Champions Tour over-35 circuit founded by his fellow American Jimmy Connors,42. McEnroe, 36, beat Connors 6-1, 7-5 in a repeat of the 1984 Wimbledon men's singles final.

PETER'S CUP (Moscow) Singles final: J McEnroe (US) bt J Connors (US) 6-1 7-5. Doubles final: J Clerc (Arg) and J Kriek (SA) bt B Borg (Swe) and J Lloyd (Eng) 6-2 6-2.
