Britain in the medals
Great Britain won two silvers and a bronze on the third day of the European Championships at Ostend. Michelle Rogers and Chloe Cowen provided the silvers, and Kate Howey the bronze on the first day of the finals. Cowen was beaten by the Belgian Olympic champion Ulla Werbrouck in the final of the -72kg class. "I feel it's the worst medal you can get," she said of her silver. Rogers, in the +72kg class, shared Cowen's disappointment, losing, for the third time in three championships, to Germany's Joanna Hagen. Howey was in inspired form in the -66kg repechage, the 23-year- old from Andover dismissing both her opponents with ease to claim bronze.
