Mick Wadsworth, the former Carlisle United director of coaching, was yesterday appointed manager of Scarborough in succession to Mitch Cook.

Shrewsbury Town's opening Nationwide League Second Division match next season against Wycombe Wanderers on 17 August has been put back to Sunday 18 August to avoid clashing with the town's flower show.

The Italian Serie A club Parma have appointed Carlo Ancelotti, who was in charge of Reggiana last season, as their new coach in place of Nevio Scala.
