British GT shows support for ex-servicemen

Teams from the British F3 and British GT championships will continue to support the disabled ex serviceman's motor sport charity, KartForce, for the final rounds of the 2010 season. Teams from both championships will carry KartForce branding at Brands Hatch this weekend.

The move comes after teams from both championships helped out at the launch event at Whilton Mill in August. Since the launch event, one of the KartForce drivers, paraplegic Jason Gill, has applied for and received his MSA competition license and plans to race competitively.

"It is very inspirational to see these guys, and I'd like to thank all of our teams and drivers for supporting this." said Lisa Crampton of series organiser SRO. "Motorsport can sometimes be a very individualistic sport but we also have a duty to be a part of the wider community. We all wish Jason the best of luck when he starts his racing career."

Dave Player, the organiser of KartForce is delighted by the teams stance. "It's fantastic that the guys at British F3 and British GT have helped us raise the profile of KartForce and we are really delighted that they will now carry this support through to the end of the season. We have lots of ex servicemen who want to get involved. Some guys simply want to have fun, some want to compete with their mates, and some want to take it a stage further and race in a competitive environment and see how far they can take it."
