Superbikes: Byrne takes British crown

Shane Byrne took a record-equalling third British Superbike crown in style as he celebrated a hat-trick of victories in a thrilling finale at Brands Hatch.

Byrne had the edge over Josh Brookes going into the final round and won on Saturday before he continued his winning momentum in the first of yesterday's races. He maintained the advantage going into the championship-deciding final race of the season, which he took by a third of a second.
