Show all 101 DIVING Six confident and precise dives from the Chinese teenage pair Cao Yuan and Zhang Yanquan won the gold medal in the men's synchronised 10m platform event yesterday afternoon.
2 WOMEN'S SWIMMING Ye Shiwen, emerging as one of the faces of the Games for her remarkable gold in the women's 400m individual medley, with a final 50m faster than Ryan Lochte, dazzled again in the heats for the 200m individual medley. Ye produced by far the fastest performance, 1.61 seconds ahead of the next fastest.
3 GYMNASTICS Success in the men's team final yesterday, as the nation secure their second gold medal of the day, finishing top of the event with 275.997 points.
4 FENCING Chinese fencer Sun Yujie impressively won the bronze medal match against South Korea's Shin A-Lam 15-11. The match was delayed by an hour after Shin had appealed for her semi-final loss to Britta Heidemann.
5 BASKETBALL The Chinese women's basketball team maintained their excellent start by beating Croatia 83-58 in the preliminary round. Lijie Miao scored 18 points and 10 rebounds for China.
6 TABLE TENNIS Ding Ning is through to the quarter-finals of the women's singles table tennis after beating Hiang Juajun of Hong Kong 4-1 today. "I feel pressure because of the expectations on me, but I'm not afraid," said Ding.
7 SINGLES BADMINTON Reigning men's Olympic champion Lin Dan is through to the round of 16. In the women's event, the No 1 seed for the badminton women's singles Wang Yihan also won.
8 BOXING Chinese boxer Meng Fanlong beat Ahmed Bakri 17-8 in the round of 32 light-heavyweight (81kg) division. Bakri blamed the referee. "The referee had an effect because some decisions did not go my way," he said. "The referees are closed to the Moroccans."
9 BADMINTON MIXED DOUBLES In the badminton mixed doubles, Xu Chen and Ma Jin won their second game yesterday, beating Thai pair Sudket Prapakamol and Saralee Thoungthongkam 21-19, 21-12.
10 MEN'S SWIMMING Sun Yang, who had previously powered to gold in the 400m freestyle, won the 200m freestyle silver.
