Winter Olympics 2014: Short track speed-skater Jack Whelbourne unsure on fitness ahead of 1000m heats on Thursday

Whelbourne injured his ankle when he fell in the 1500m final on Monday

Great Britain short track skater Jack Whelbourne has still not decided whether he is fit enough to take part in Thursday's 1000 metres heats at the Winter Olympics in Sochi.

The 22-year-old from Nottingham injured his ankle when he fell to the ice in the 1500m final at the Iceberg Skating Palace on Monday.

Whelbourne has been working in the pool and on the bike but he has not yet had his skates on and an update from the British Olympic Association on Wednesday revealed that Team GB medical team are continuing to monitor him.
