Dutch supporters at the Winter Olympics celebrated a triple win for the Netherlands by mocking Donald Trump.

Three Dutch competitors took gold, silver and bronze medals on Saturday in the women’s 3,000-metre speed skating event, the first country to sweep the top three spots in this round of the Games.

Dutch television channel NOS captured supporters unfurling a flag to celebrate the country’s victory, with a caption aimed at the US President.

“Sorry Mr. President. The Netherlands FIRST…and 2nd…and 3rd!,” the flag read.

Mr Trump repeatedly said an “America First” policy would sit at the heart of his administration during his 2016 election campaign.

“A new vision will govern...it’s going to be only America first, America first,” the US president told the crowd at his inauguration.

The PyeongChang 2018 Games opened on Friday, and competitors will have until 25 February to score.

Three women, Carlijn Achtereekte, Ireen Wust and Antoinette de Jong, placed for the Netherlands on Saturday.

‘’It is incredible to have three of the girls on the podium,’’ said Achtereekte.

‘’I sat with my dad and he was totally crazy,’’ she said. ‘’He already acted as if I got gold and I had to tell him, ‘There are still three races to go.’ I needed to calm my father more that I had to calm myself.’’
